Continuing to deepen the practice of Mindfulness towards greater happiness; this is a mini retreat experience emphasizing on:
- Cultivating deeper sitting and walking meditation Deeper Metta (Loving/Kindness) practices
- Cultivating richer understanding of obstacles in the way of lasting happiness
- Working with physical discomfort in meditation
- Working towards spiritual development (emotional maturity)
- Enhancing compassion and love for self and others
- Deepening related topics offered in foundation courses
This 6 week course is for experienced meditators and orthose who have taken MAPS I & II and or MAPS I & Managing the Obstacles to Mindfulness or all three. If you have not taken a MAPs I and MAPs II but believe you still qualify for the class please email us a brief description of your equivalent experience at

MAPs classes meet weekly for two hours per week for six weeks. Students will complete daily home practice meditation assignments starting at five minutes a day and working up to 20 minutes daily by the end of the course. Students will receive a complimentary Home Practice CD and a copy of the book Fully Present: The Science, Art, and Practices.
Who should take this class?
This course is an excellent introduction to mindfulness for beginners. MAPs class lays the foundation for a daily meditation practice and provides insight into the basics of mindfulness and how it can be applied to daily life. It is also appropriate for an experienced practitioner who wishes to revitalize his/her practice. MAPs is helpful for people of all backgrounds and religions.
Age: These classes are suitable for ages 16 and over.

Parking is FREE and NO time limits in the front after 6:00pm. There are also plenty of FREE parking in the lot behind Tarzana Cultural Center.
From Ventura turn on Vanalden behind IHOP, make a left at the alley behind the Tarzana Cultural Center and right into the parking lot. When you leave the parking lot go right, pass the first entrance, enter the second entrance into the shopping center. To the left is an elevator and the stairs that take you to the second floor. Once you are upstairs, go left, be sure to notice the beautiful green plants, and go through the green doorway into the hallway. We are the last unit to the right with French glass doors.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Class Refunds requested in advance of 5pm on Friday of that first week of class will be assessed a $25 administrative fee. We regret that we cannot give refunds after this date. Refunds should be requested by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
MARC reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Registrants will be notified in advance of the class.
No refunds or credits are given to registrant “no-shows”.
Postponing a Class: Credit towards a future class will be provided if a registrant notifies us by phone or email in advance of 5pm on Friday of the first week of the class series. Future class must the one immediately following the missed class series. No exceptions. (for example: if postponing a May/June class series you will have to use your credit and enroll in the July/August class series)
If you miss a class, you may make up one class in any other class at your level during the current series or the series immediately following. No refund or prorate will be issued for missed classes.
