    Overview

    Mindful Kid & Teen classes teach students how to listen, pay attention and be calm.

    “Pay attention!” “Calm down!” “Listen!” These are the directions children often hear from adults. But do your children know how?  Mindfulness is the how.

    Our Mindful Kid & Teen classes teach children and teens the simple yet profound tools of managing emotions, paying attention and creating a greater sense of calm. Through a variety of activities and discussions, children will learn what feelings are, where they come from and where they go. When a child’s ability to concentrate is increased there is improvement in school, sports, and other activities( are increased). In short, scientific studies have demonstrated, children who practice mindfulness are happier, healthier and more successful.

    Our Mindful Kid & Teen classes are (all) about gaining the experience of Mindfulness and experiencing, firsthand, its benefits. Rather than taking “just another class,” our students are given tools they can use for life. A very common reaction from our adult students is, “I wish I had learned this as a kid.”

    What is Mindfulness?

    Mindfulness is the ability to feel one’s feelings and emotions without dramatizing nor minimizing their meaning. Being present, aware and attentive, responding rather than reacting.

    Research has shown Mindfulness:

    • Strengthens focus and concentration
    • Decreases stress and anxiety
    • Promotes self-reflection and self-calming
    • Improves impulse control
    • Develops natural conflict resolution skills
    • Improves self-esteem
    • Supports “readiness to learn”

    Schools Teaching Mindfulness report:

    • Higher test scores on standardized tests
    • Fewer disciplinary issues
    • Less social conflicts
    • Fewer reports of bullying
    • Enhanced positive school climate

    Please Note: In order to offer a more complete introduction to Mindfulness practice we have designed the learning process in three sections. These sections are open to all levels of knowledge. There are no pre-requisites to enter any of the sections below. The sections provide some flexibility to choose the day of the week for parents.  As the number of students grow in the year to come we will consider offering all sections in the same day of the week to keep it consistent. For now, we hope that parents can exercise flexibility given the importance of learning these skills and how they impact every aspect of their children’s lives. Please see below a brief description, dates and time each section is offered in the weeks to come. We  hope to be of service to as many people as we possibly can. So, please tell your friends about these classes. We also highly recommend that parents take our adult courses so you may all be Mindful at home.     Section I:

    Enhance Your Learning By Being a Mindful Student – Gain focus, attentiveness, peacefulness and more…

    • Ages 5-9: 4 Mon (Nov 4 to 25; from 3:30 to 4:30pm)
    • Ages 10-15: 4 Mon (Nov 4 to 25; from 5:00 to 6:00pm)

    Section II:

    Rise Above the Muck of Emotions – Understand where emotions come from, learn to calm them and be happy

    • Ages 5-9: 4 Wed (Nov 6 to Dec 4; Thanksgiving week OFF; from 3:30 to 4:30pm)
    • Ages 10-15: 4 Wed (Nov 6 to Dec 4; Thanksgiving week OFF; from 5:00 to 6:00pm)

    Section III:

    Be A Mindful Warrior / Worrier – Understanding life has challenges, how not to worry, but be bravely present

    • Ages 5-9: 4 Sat (Nov 9 to Dec 7; Thanksgiving week OFF; from 3:30 to 4:30pm)
    • Ages 10-15: 4 Sat (Nov 9 to Dec 7; Thanksgiving week OFF; from 5:00 to 6:00pm)

    Location and Parking:

    6914 Canby Ave, Suite 103 Reseda, CA 91335 – The venue is in a business plaza with US Fitness center. There is plenty of FREE Parking. Please arrive a few minutes early to your first session so that you can find the place and settle in.

    What to Bring:

    All you need is comfortable clothing. Chairs and cushions are provided.

    Fees:

    Our funds for waiving fees for Veterans, First Responders and their immediate family members are completely used. Please consider making a donation or sponsoring. For more information visit:  First Responders/Veterans Stress Relief Initiative.

    If you are experiencing true financial hardship and unable to pay the full price please write a letter to Info@PerfectlyHere.org and ask for part scholarship and or work-exchange opportunities.

    Refund Policy

    Class Refunds must be requested 7 days in advance of the first session of the class and will be assessed a $25 administrative fee. We regret that we cannot give refunds after this date. After this time, we may allow some of the fee as credit towards future classes. Credit will only be good for 90 days from the date of the class. Refunds should be requested by emailing info@perfectlyhere.org

    Perfectly Here reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrolment. At which time, we will notify registrants and issue full refund.

    If you do not show for any reason without prior notice you will not qualify for refund.
