By Dr. Manijeh Motaghy
Wednesdays, 7-9pm; Reseda – Thursdays, 7-9pm; West Hills
Happiness is what all beings seek. Isn’t it? Well, according to our constitution, it is our birth-right to PURSUE HAPPINESS. That’s right! However, by the way our lives are set up, it seems we are constantly pursuing happiness and it’s one step or for most ten steps ahead. Hence, a wonderful opportunity to explore some of the teachings of wise teachers who have accomplished happiness and know where and how happiness and peacefulness maybe found. Compassionately, they tell us the “how to of” being and remaining happy at any time, in any place and under any circumstance.
Mindfulness of Five Realities: For Happiness
Beyond Mindfulness Series were designed by Dr. Motaghy to satisfy students’ desire and curiosity to go beyond how Mindfulness is presented in the mainstream movement. To expand their understanding of happiness and to develop those qualities that lead to inner peace. These Courses are designed for the secular mind in a secular language and practice with life examples that pertain to the students’ personal /professional life and experience.
Are picked based on instructors own practice, growth, and the realization of what maybe missed by practitioners who take random mindfulness or Buddhist classes/workshops. This is to help cover important aspects of the Buddha’s teachings that support and enhance the development of Mindfulness. These series are offered in five sections. They provide a continuous period of time and space for learning and practicing, building a community with peers who are on the same path, a sangha. An opportunity to fulfill the desire to commit to one’s own growth and development for a longer period of time, taking personal transformation to the next level.
Below you’ll find the Mindfulness of Five Realities: For Happiness topics for each individual section. The beauty of these courses and their design is that anyone can begin with any of the sections and start from there. Each topic stands alone and works as part of a group of collective topics.

I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.
If people knew how hard I had to work to gain my mastery, it would not seem so wonderful at all.
Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.
To discover the angel in us, we have to carve the mind and shape it, until we free the angel within.
Fortunately, there are NO pre-requisites for this particular series. Class does not require you to have long term meditation practice.
