The MLO Professional Practitioner Certification includes two parts:
A) Three take home (open-book)developmental exams: To be completed by November 10, 2026. I highly recommend to not wait till the last few days to fill out the exam.
B) Two-day, intensive experiential MLO Methodology Retreat: November 14–15, 2026

Your Certification Journey
The certification process is designed to strengthen and assess your understanding of the MLO Methodology while developing your ability to apply its principles and techniques in real-life situations.
Step 1 — Register and Pay
Complete your certification registration and payment to receive access to the examination materials.
Step 2 — Complete Three Examinations
You will have from October 10 through November 10 to complete three open-book examinations designed to encourage reflection, independent reasoning, research and practical application.
Step 3 — Receive Your Results and Feedback
Your examinations will be evaluated, and you will receive your grades and developmental feedback by November 13 to help identify strengths and areas requiring further understanding, which we would explore during the in-person retreat. The minimum required points for each exam is equal to 75% of the allotted points.
Step 4 — Attend the Two-Day HSO Retreat
Regardless of having fulfilled the minimum required points on the exam, selected participants are able to attend the November 14–15, 2026 in-person retreat. Participate in experiential learning, discussions, clarification of examination questions, and practical application of MLO principles.
Step 5 — Receive Your Certification
Upon satisfactory completion of all three examinations and the two-day retreat, you will receive your MLO Professional Certification and enjoy the benefits.

MLO professionals are expected to demonstrate sound reasoning, integrity, ethical conduct, compassion, effective communication, and respect for individual autonomy.

Upon successfully completing the three examinations and two-day MLO Methodology Retreat, you will receive:
1. Certified MLO Practitioner (CMLOP) Designation
Earn the professional designation of Certified MLO Practitioner, recognizing your demonstrated foundational knowledge and application of the MLO Methodology.
2. Professional Practice and Income Opportunities
Gain authorization to offer qualifying MLO-based educational, facilitation, and human development services independently, including paid services, within the established scope of your Level I certification and applicable professional guidelines.
3. Official MLO Professional Certificate
Receive documentation recognizing your achievement and certification as an MLO Fundamentals (MLOF) Level I practitioner.
4. Lifetime 25% Continuing Education Discount
Receive a personal lifetime discount code for qualifying future MLO courses, workshops, and retreats.
5. Pathway to Specialized Certification
Explore further specialization through Level II — MLO for Sustainability (MLOS) and Level III — Corporate MLO (CMLO), subject to eligibility and additional certification requirements.
